Levenshulme Good Neighbours are a local charity that supports older people by offering befriending. Our volunteers are visiting older people in Levenshulme everyday offering help, support and most of all friendship. We make a real difference to the Levenshulme community.
We also need volunteers to help us to run our organisation. These volunteers are vital to our success. We are looking for two new members to join our friendly Management Committee. Can you spare a few hours a month to be a Good Neighbour?
Levenshulme Good Neighbours are looking for a befriending volunteer to accompany a disabled women from Levenshulme to a range of cultural events and activities a couple of times a month. The woman is very independent and good company with a wide range of interests. We are looking for a female volunteer who has access to a car and some availability in the evenings or weekends (to go to the theatre for example). Your expenses would be covered and you would receive the ongoing support of Levenshulme Good Neighbours.

Are you a ‘crafty’ person? Levenshulme GoodNeighbours are looking for an arts and crafts session worker to run a session for National Older People Day on the 1st October.
This would be for a drop-in activity, and we would really like people to be able to take something away with them. It needs to be easy to join in for people of all skills levels / physical abilities and not take a long time to achieve (we were thinking origami or something else paper based – but are open to suggestions). There is funding to pay for your time and equipment.
- Provide examples of the work you plan to do with people attending the day
- Be free to work in Levenshulme on the 1st October between 10.30am and 3pm
- Provide all the required supplies
- Provide a taxpayer reference number to show you are self-employed and are able to be paid freelance
