Just devastating but could have been worse, please please help in any way you can.

Wendy who runs these stables is an amazing animal lover. I met her on a rainy summers night last year when a German shepherd dog was roaming in Levenshulme and I went to scan it. She was chipped to Wendy and was a stable dog. Concerned as to how she had got out and how she was living I met Wendy at the stables and was awestruck. We found the loose panel that looked like it had been kicked and secured the dog for the night. The stables were immaculate, as was every animal within them. She told me that Sheba was due to retire but it was hard to get the right dog. Months later a rescue friend of mine was struggling to find the right place for a gsd that was a neglected yard dog that wouldn’t settle indoors. Wendy took her in and took Sheba home. Later I needed a space for a semi-feral neutered mama cat I trapped in Old Trafford. Wendy took her in as a barn cat. Two fosterers had deemed Lulu too wild and unpredictable to be a pet, Wendy took her in at the stables. Shortly after she contacted us to say Lulu just needed the right quiet home as the only cat (she’s a Bengal), and she had found her one. Lulu now spends her evenings stretched out on a rug in front of a log burner. Last time I spoke to Wendy she felt the gsd had also rehabilitated and she may have found her a new, indoor, forever home too. This woman has a gift with animals and always puts their needs first, reads them so very well.

Whether unfortunate (neglectful) accident caused by neighbours or deliberate, the family do not deserve to suffer this and need our help.

Thank you.

Officers are keen to speak to two men pictured on CCTV in connection with a rape in Levnshulme.

Shortly before 12pm on Monday, 14 November 2016, a 31-year-old woman was raped in Cringle Park, on Clare Road, whilst out walking.

Rape Reported In Cringle Park

A community walk in Cringle Park will happen at 11.00 on 20th November 2016 to show solidarity and sympathy with the victim.

This is the report from Greater Manchester Police:

“Officers investigating the rape of a woman in Levenshulme are appealing to three possible witnesses.

Shortly before 12pm on Monday, 14 November 2016, a 31-year-old woman was raped in Cringle Park, on Clare Road, whilst out walking.

An investigation was launched and a dedicated team of detectives have been carrying out further enquiries.

It is now believed there were three people in the park who may have witnessed something prior to the incident and officers are keen to speak to them.

These include a white man, in his 30s, who was wearing jeans and a khaki coat and was throwing a football for his dog.

A white woman, who is believed to be in her early 40s, with brown hair was also walking a dog which was white.

The third person is an older, white woman, who was pushing a black pram with a dog on a lead. She was wearing a black coat with the hood up and had brown hair. This woman briefly spoke to the victim before the attack.

The offender is described as wearing dark clothes with his hood up.

Detective Chief Inspector Chris Mossop, from GMP’s City of Manchester division, said: “We have been carrying out extensive enquiries and want to speak to these people who were in the park around the time of the offence.

“I would like to stress you are not in any trouble but you could have key information which could help us with this case. Even if you think you didn’t see anything, please still get in touch with us as any information could be vital.

“We aware this incident has caused concerns in the community and I want to make it clear we are doing everything in our power to find the person responsible.

“No one should be scared to go about their daily business and we want to reassure local residents that we have increased patrols in the area. A police van is also currently parked near to the incident and we are also speaking with the local council.

“We are also aware of a community walk taking place in the park this Sunday (20 November 2016) and are currently liaising with the organisers to our offer our support.

“If you have any concerns please approach one of our officers and although we cannot go into the details of an on-going investigation we will try and help in any way we can.”

Anybody with information should contact police on 101, quoting incident number 824 of or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

Children’s Sponsored Walk For Refugees In Crisis 27th September

Young children want to raise money for those who have lost everything and seeking refuge for safety.

On Saturday evening my husband and I spoke to our children (aged 8, 5 and 3) about the Syrian conflict in a sensitive way that children their age would understand. We wanted them to be aware so that we could donate items and they would understand why.

My eight year old daughter suggested a sponsored walk to raise money to help and we burst with pride. I explained to the boys what a sponsored walk was and they giddily agreed.

We are going to walk the Fallowfield loop on 27th September at 1pm starting at the entrance at Slade Lane and will walk to Gorton. They will then have to do the journey back again.

Other families have said they will join us so I have created this event page so that people can invite other families or sponsor those walking or toddling.

There will be children of different ages and stages so I propose parents/carers wanting to get involved to set your own targets for your child’s individual needs. that way everybody who would like to participate and raise money can be included. Also id say bike riding, scooting, running are allowed as they are children after all.

For those attending please bring appropriate clothing for the weather and water.

Some families may even want to bring a picnic, the loop has some lovely spots to sit and we will also pass the secret lake.

If you cant join us, please sponsor the children.

Thank you.
